This was the Global Science Film Festival Happening in November 2019 in Zurich
[Science Film Festival[1]]
How we got noticed and came up with the idea:
Interested in photography and science? Discover Zurich and surroundings during the first Science Photo Marathon on 27 September 2019 (https://www.sciencefilm.ch)
The competition is open to everybody, no matter if you are a scientist or not, a professional or an amateur photographer. You can participate together with friends, colleagues and family and have a nice and enjoyable time together. Only requirement is that you have a digital camera (smartphone camera also applies).
The marathon will be held at Zoological Museum, Zoo Zurich, UZH Science Campus Irchel (Zurich) and Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science &Technology (Eawag, Dübendorf). You may also travel from one location to another by public transportation.
For more information see the website: https://www.sciencefilm.ch/photo-marathon Registration is now open.
Conditions:
All kinds of digital cameras (including smartphones) are allowed. Accessories with the camera (filter, light…etc.) are allowed. Start with blank memory card. Photo format: only JPEG are accepted. Maximum size is 100 MB and minimum resolution is 2000 x 3000 pixels (16.9 x 25.4 cm to 300 dpi). Digital touching: It is not permitted to post-process the images with an image editing program such as Photoshop. You can move from one place to another walking, with a bicycle or using public transport only!
So we took the chance of telling us the Hiseq2000 also works as a camera.
Jury during the Film Festival was:
Prof. Dr. JANET HERING
MARKUS IMHOOF
CHRISTIAN FREI
AIDA SCHLAEPFER
