Kolar district in Karnataka has a case of Arsenic contamination due to the nearby gold mines, and we will be visiting Kolar to understand the severity of the contamination.

During our first visit, we aim to find out what the residents of Kolar know regarding the Arsenic contamination, how they deal with it, the extent of Arsenic poisoning, and what their viable options for steps after detection are.

During our second visit, we will undertake:

  • Data Mapping the various contamination sites
  • Primary Research by collecting samples and interviewing the locals to know their perspective of the situation
  • Documentation - A short film, along with a 360degree panaroma
  • Interacting with the locals - conduct workshops, or plays along with setting up installations/data visualization to effectively communicate/educate the people; Collaborate with AADIMA - the local theater group
