In our second NanoHacking lesson we produced something like a noise generating device.

1. First, we used UV light (from the sun or from the UV lamp, for approximately 120 seconds) to produce our own circuit board. Furthermore, we designed and customized our circuit by drawing things onto the template.

2. Secondly, we treated the board with two different chemical solutions, one was a developer NaOH and the other solution was caustic NaSO4. With the goal to place our designed circuit on the surface.

NaOH = developer NaSO4 = caustic

3. After the generation of the circuit, we soldered different important parts like a chip, wires, resistance, LED, batteries and a piezo speaker on the board.

4. As a result of this process we got a noise generating device. Moreover, it is able to produce different kinds of sound by touching and connecting the two poles through the resistance area.

5. Manipulation of the resistance area: I tried to coat the resistance area with different materials and liquids (water, wax, a special spray, nanotechspeedwax, fire,…) I was able to manipulate the area in between the two poles. To mention some of the used materials: For example NanoTechSpeedWax —> it has not stopped making a noise. Touching the two poles with a wax coated finger it revealed a resistance. A soldered wire on each pole touching my tongue, let the LED shine without any upcoming noise.
